What do you get when you mix one legendary Great Garlic Person, a whole bunch of garlic-loving townsfolk, and a giant blank storybook?

You get Once Upon a Thyme… a magical, ever-growing, community-scribed fairytale brought to life by The Art Thing Collaborative at this year’s Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival!

All day long at our “Once Upon a Thyme” tent, festival goers of all ages are invited to stop by, pick up a pen (or a crayon), and help spin a tale of Garlic & Herb. Add a line, complete a prompt, and bring your own garlicky twist to the page!

Our in-house scribe (and garlic-loving poet) Carly Proulx will be live-writing the epic as it unfolds, with help from visiting tale tellers big and small. By day’s end, the story will be told aloud with a dramatic reading by the Great Garlic himself (TAT’s very own, Michael Vittiglio).
