What happens when a whole community tells a story together… and then comes back a year later to tell it all over again?
You get A Faerie Garlic Tale! The Art Thing Collaborative’s ever-changing community story written every year at the Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival!
Last year, festival-goers of all ages helped us create one wonderfully strange tale of garlic, magic, unexpected characters, and twists nobody could have planned.
This year, we’re opening the book again.
Throughout the day, stop by The Art Thing and help us retell, remix, twist, and reimagine last year’s story. Choose a character. Swap a word. Change what happens next. Add one new little detail from your imagination and watch the tale become something completely new!
It’s quick. It’s silly. And you don’t have to be a writer, you just have to add your little spin to the story.
By the end of the festival, all those tiny contributions will grow our tale once again. And, of course, the newest version of our tale will be read aloud for all to hear by none other than the Garlic King himself — The Art Thing’s very own Michael Vittiglio.
