BIG NEWS FOR ART WAR™!

We’re incredibly excited (and deeply grateful) to share that The Art Thing has been awarded $15,000 from the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties to take Art WAR™ to the next level…

That’s right! Get ready for Art WAR: The Intercollegiate Tournament Series!!!

This funding from the Community Foundation is helping us expand the Art WAR™ pilot program we did last year with the staff and students at Herkimer College into a fully regional, multi-college live artmaking “tournament,” connecting campuses and communities across the Mohawk Valley!

Art WAR™ is a loud, fast, collaborative, high-hype live Art Thing throwdown that turns artmaking into a shared experience and invites the wider community to be part of the action.

With this support, we’re officially entering the outreach phase! We’re reaching out to local colleges, universities, faculty, students, community partners, venues, and supporters across the region to collaborate with us on these public Art WAR™ events starting in 2026.
