What is Sound Journey?

Sound Journey is an immersive, sound-based arts and wellness program being developed by The Art Thing Collaborative in international partnership with MindSpa/Synctuition as a way to create shared restorative experiences of calm and connection while exploring new ways to bring accessible arts and wellness experiences into more community spaces

Participants are invited to put on a pair of headphones and journey together a shared listening experience where they can simply slow down and be present together in rich and immersive soundscapes inspired by nature.

Participants describe the experience as “very relaxing, mentally immersive, and grounding,” “like a supercharged meditation session,” and said things like “my body was very relaxed afterwards” and “my mind was running at a lower gear.”

A New Kind of After-Work Reset

This rooftop garden version of Sound Journey is designed as a relaxed wind-down experience for business professionals, workers, residents, and community members.

Instead of a traditional networking event or happy hour, Sound Journey offers a different kind of gathering: one centered on calm, reflection, and shared presence. Come as you are, put on the headphones, and take a few minutes to reset.

Participants describe the experience as “very relaxing, mentally immersive, and grounding,” “like a supercharged meditation session,” and said things like “my body was very relaxed afterwards” and “my mind was running at a lower gear.”

Early feedback has helped us see the potential for Sound Journey as a simple, accessible way for business professionals to pause, reset, and reconnect at the end of the workday, while sharing a meaningful experience of calm and connection with others.

What to Expect

You can stop by for one listening session or stay longer if you’d like. Each journey will last around 20 minutes, with new sessions beginning throughout the event window.

No experience is needed. You don’t need to prepare anything, bring anything, or know anything about sound-based wellness. Just arrive, put on the headphones, and give yourself a little space to slow down.

The intention is to create a restorative shared experience of calm, presence, reflection, and connection.

A New Program, Shaped with the Community

Because Sound Journey is still new, this pilot series is also a chance for us to keep learning what the experience can be. By coming and taking part, you’re helping us shape how the program might continue growing as a low-barrier, community-based arts and wellness offering.

This event is free and open to all. Whether you’re coming from work, meeting a friend, curious about arts and wellness, or simply looking for a new way to reset, we’d love for you to join us on the rooftop garden at Rock City Centre.
